Fantastic Mother's Day dinner with my son! I had the most amazing and totally sinful penne with dried tomatoes, artichoke, garlic and a to die for cream sauce. You can't beat the amazing views of the Pacific Coast from every window in the dining room! Outdoor dining is available as well on warmer days. The service was prompt and very attentive to our needs. A perfect night! Thank you
The food is good, the location is great, and the staff are very pleasant.
However, considering that where it is located has spotty cell service, many people may be driving through the area, or are staying for a short while, and the fact that it is 2022, I found it quite odd and frustrating that they didn't have public wifi for their guests when I asked for it.
Otherwise I would be happy to come back assuming I'm not in a position to require it.
Burger was delicious. Will definitely try more next time I'm there as I certainly will be back. Can never complain about a good cold beer.
Cove Azul bar and grill in Gualala has excellent food and service. Had dinner there last night and two of us went back for lunch today. Seafood linguine was exceptional. Highly recommended.
My husband and I visited on a slowed Thursday night. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. The bread was fresh, warm, and delicious. I ordered the clam chowder which was very thick and had noticeable pieces of clam. I also ordered the seafood pesto pasta. There was a surprising amount of seafood in the dish and tasted quite fresh. My main complaint was the it was swimming in a sauce. A tasty sauce, but it still felt like too much. I recommended ordering with less sauce.
My husband ordered the steak which was cooked to order and a decent portion. It was served with a strange black pepper sauce. Maybe the mushroom sauce (the offered alternative) would be better? He scraped most of the sauce off and was still pretty happy with it. The mashed potatoes had a boxed texture but tasted pretty good, so we didn't complain.
There aren't a ton of options for food in Gualala, but we would happily eat here again. The portions are huge, so the price was a great value considering the quality of the food and that we each got two meals out of it.
