A.W. Shucks Cocktail & Oyster Bar

This was a really lovely bar for a drink ???? and a dessert. I had a Remy Sazerac and it was exquisite. The key lime pie is not to be missed. It was so good in fact i didn’t have time to take a photo before it was completely consumed. The bartenders are lovely and courteous, and weirdly enough the ice water they serve was so noteworthily excellent, you don’t want to pass it up.

This is a nice place, little small. Service was very good, nice waitress. We came with no reservation but they were able to seat us. Ordered shrimp cocktails and oysters shooters. Shrimp was fresh and very yummy. Shooter was in shoot glass with salsa, again very yummy and Fresh warm ciabatta bread and butter, also yummy. I'll definitely go back if in the area.

We discovered this spot while on our way to another establishment. I was on the hunt for an oyster shooter, which by the way, is surprisingly hard to find in California coastal towns. We saw the sign advertising oysters outside and thought we'd give it a shot. We were greeted by friendly staff at the door and assisted with finding seating at the bar immediately. I was thrilled to see not one, but 3 oyster shooters on the menu. I had the Tequila Lime Shooter first then tried the Peppar Oyster Shooter. I can't decide which was my favorite but they both have set the bar for oyster shooters for the rest of my life! Props to our bartender Alejandro! Oh... my husband had some IPA that he liked but I didn't pay much attention to him while I was thoroughly enjoying my drink and the atmosphere. Needless to say, we never made it to our original destination.

What a wonderful place. Old school sophistication while maintaining a cozy atmosphere. We say at the bar, ordered a Shuckers beer (perfect with the food) and enjoyed the Pro Am crowd on a stormy day. The owners were welcoming customers and shaking hands at the door while helping with the seating. The bartender (Alex) was pleasant and attentive.

The food... Haven't had a better version of what we ordered. The tuna melt used fresh tuna and what was mixed in didn't mask the flavor of the delicious fish, nor was there so much cheese that the sandwich felt greasy and heavy. It was fluffy somehow and utterly delicious. The fried seafood platter was equally good. Prawns, cod and calamari was all cooked perfectly and the in-house made sauces made them even better.

Wonderful restaurant, staff and food. Will be back.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch and drinks. Staff was great from the moment we walked in to us leaving. We had some of the best drinks in a long time. Kudos to the bartender! The food tastes great and the price fit the bill! Now my wife and I have a new favorite spot. If you try this amazing spot I would recommend getting there world famous bloody Mary.
