“Quiet little grill hidden across the street from the entrance to Spyglass Golf Course. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a great variety of snacks and drinks. Right on the golf course so you have great views from the inside, and outside, seating. The staff was great. Very helpful and attentive to my specially ordered sandwich and were very courteous. Food came out fast and hot and made to order. Beers are in a stand-up fridge, and we're exceptionally cold. The menu had a great set of options to choose from as well.”

“The Shore shelter is the smaller of two golf shelters at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, both are private and have no facilities for the public, only club members and their guests. The 'shelter' does a great breakfast and lunch, but is closed for dinner. The views as stellar, with a fire burning in the big fireplace most days. Very fortunate!”

“Played at Poppy hills today, March 27, 2019. I usually play at a club in Illinois. The course appeared to be in good shape after aeration several weeks ago. The practice green was fast but all greens on the course were slow. Bunkers were in good condition. There were intermittent very light showers but I expected the greens to roll much better for this level course. The views are very nice with beautiful large trees but certainly not spectacular. Overall a pretty nice course. However, the service was disappointing. Starter told me if my handicap was over 10 I should tee off from Poppy 2. After reaching the first par 5 in 2 I reviewed the scorecard which suggests 2s for a handicap over 14. No one helped me when I pulled up to the bag drop. No food or drink cart on course. No one helped when I returned to bag drop after round. No one offered to clean clubs. I had to put the push cart away myself. Staff act like it’s beneath them to help you out. Level of service is a surprising when paying $260 with push cart for a visitor. I didn’t play Pebble Beach due to recent aeration. I may play that in the future but don’t think I’ll be back to Poppy.”

“Opens good and early on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Sadly limited Vegetarian selection and no fish. Toast had mold on it (was promptly replaced when we pointed it out). Nice views of the golf course and we heard someone order a double vodka and cranberry so if that's your thing at 6:30am on a Sunday it seems you are in luck!”

“There are few places where you could get service this good. Get ready to be treated like royalty when you are a guest here. Our wait staff went above and beyond to meet all our needs. Even the manager showed up to check up on us later. This tells me they got an awesome team there. The food was a delight and the view was awesome. I would recommend the swordfish sandwich without bacon - the food simply melted in my mouth.”

“Silvana is amazing! Her bus boy Calvin represents her expertise. I just saw her tame a table of 4 adults and 8 children from two different countries, US and Australia, with the expertise and knowledge of a mama lion and the most heartfelt representative of the Spanish Bay I've seen yet. Apparently she is the sole reason why food at Spanish Bay has continued to thrive!”
