Memphis Soul Cafe & Bar

The Memphis Cafe was recommended by the Valet at our hotel (the nearby Westin) for a late breakfast.
It's a small place, I suspect a local favorite, and the food is very good. All the usual options for breakfast.
If the weather is nice I do suggest dining in the back patio as it's not as noisy as the inside.

I felt like this place did a decent job. The cornbread was a bit over cooked. The macaroni and cheese made up for it. This place has great ambiance and it's very trendy. I would like you come back again and further explore the menu.

One word: Delicious.

Debating where to go for food, we ended up here after looking at some reviews, and satisfied to say, they were not wrong.

Ordered Shrimp and Grits - delicious and great portions.

A little difficult to find from the streets because the signs of the other places nearby took over everything, but now that I know where it is, I would definitely come back.

Be aware, though: Valet parking only. At least when we came by it was.

Ask for Mikey if you want an awesome experience. She picked everything (wine and food) and I really enjoyed it. Even my daughter enjoyed her food!

Rustic atmosphere but excellent food. Well prepared and delicious. Good selection of beer and wine. The Gumbo was authentic and very good with the right amount of heat. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken is a winner. The salads are fresh and worth the drive.
