The Nest

FLAVORFUL in all the best ways! They create top notch sweet and savory dishes. I got the bacon waffles and my husband got the Travis (a poutine dish topped with pulled short rib). I tried both, of course. And I wanted to finish each of them. The serving sizes are ample. Enough to share a single dish if you have a 'don't overindulge' mindset, but it will be hard to want to share after that first bite.

I chose the Nest's poutine over the Penalty Box, even though it was about $2 more. Although I've had poutine before in Vancouver, Canada with actual cheese curds the Nest's version of poutine, however was not for me. Again, not that it was bad, just different. Using home fries and cheese sauce, I feel, made the potatoes soft and soggy and in lieu of biting into cheese curds, there is just the taste of sauce. The braised short ribs didn't have bad flavor but, were somewhat overpowered by the cheese sauce.

I really wanted to like this place, but at $12 "the Travis"poutine was a bit overwhelming ( again the cheese sauce) and underwhelming with a lack of overall variety of flavors.

If ya like cheese sauce though, this place is it!!

Delicious poutine extremely delicious came hungry so that helped next is bacon waffle on my list or Shrimp grilled cheese sandwich.

The churro waffle was incredible!! I would have had pics if it wasn't so incredibly tasty! Definitely will return to try the rest! The owner, Tony, was so welcoming! Put this spot on your must check out list immediately!

Just tried The Nest restaurant In Garden Garden at the new Steel Craft, food was amazing!!
Food was Piping hot,Fresh, Delicious. I usually drive all the way to bell flower just to get breakfast there but now that there’s a garden grove location I’m stoked!!!!

Had the Bacon waffle and my brother had the Chiliquilles ,both were just as good and on point as their original spot I’ll definitely be back. if you haven’t had The Nest ,it’s a must have !! I’ll never eat at another random breakfast spot!!
