“Bought two beers here and nothing else, and they carded be unreasonably hard. Not surprising from a 7-Eleven in a tourist town but still a bit... unreasonable. Nobody in here was wearing a mask, the selection is dissatisfactory, and they are still providing self-serve coffee, soda, etc. The response to Covid is absent here, and it shows. Otherwise, it’s a normal 7-Eleven!”

“They’ve hired a new person and it’s been very good the last couple months. Same lady everyday. Bread is fresh and all veggies accounted for.”

“I absolutely loved how they had at least seven different gluten-free options, and they were very amenable to making changes to the menu based on your preferences. For example, you could put your Crabs Benedict on top of spinach instead of regular egg muffins or even gluten-free bread. I also get a side of gluten-free pancakes which were absolutely delicious and really big. It was Swedish style pancakes! Also, I got a peppermint Italian soda that was less sugary, and very delicious. I would definitely come back here again, if I was in the area.”

“Great food, good drinks and attentive service. The reason for four stars? Low energy, minimal customers and this was on Father's Day! This restaurant could be so much better. Not sure why the lack of customers.”

“I have been a fan of Char-Pit for about 40 years. My best friend Mike introduced me to this place when we were 12 years old. My go-to is the Char Burger, but my now teen-aged sons ordered different items this time. My older son ordered the French Burger (burger patty smothered in melted blue cheese), said it was delicious, the proportions were perfect. My younger son ordered the ribs and says they are great! They must be pretty good, because we overheard a call-in order for three full racks of ribs. Some folks may think it is kinda plane-jane, but I have loved this place most of my life. Their soft serve ice cream is always good and they have a lot of flavor options for their milkshakes and/or malts.”

“Excellent burgers, great patio, and super close to the beach. I came to King's Beach to see my friends play a show here and the night was awesome. The food was great. I had The Grid burger. It was classic bar food but, to be honest, the patty was cooked better than I expected. The bartenders were fast. I never waited more than a couple minutes for service and the bar was pretty packed. All-in-all this was a great experience and I will definitely be back.”

“Amazing place to get a drink/eat/ and even to get some quick groceries! I am a tourist from Arizona and I was blown away from how authentic the food tasted and am really glad I gave this place a chance. The prices very and can start from tacos being $2 to Seasfood being close to $11 which beats the competitive local shops with higher prices due to how close it is to the lake. I will definitely come back(: thank you!”

“The wait was pretty long, we waited 10 minutes for a waitress and then 40 minutes for our food. Our kids liked their food. My wife and I weren’t impressed by ours (tacos and tamale).”

“Great location next to the beach. The outdoor deck is the perfect spot for a cocktail and a nibble. The nachos are amazing! The Turkey club is solid. The French onion soup with the toasted cheese bread is amazing. Our server was friendly and personable. We will be back.....”

“This place rocks! Apps are awesome. We had the crab dip, garlic bread, olives & shrimp cocktail and all totally delivered. We had a big group of 10 and split between pizzas and sandwiches for the entrees. Everything was great. I personally had the pork sandwich which was fantastic. My mom said that it was the best pizza she's had in quite a while. Gluten free options on the pizzas and pitas. Solid beer and drink selections. Great views of the lake. Not much more I can say but go!”

“Party of 17 for breakfast mid-week. The eggs Benedict and country fried steak we're really good! Food coming out if the kitchen was a tad slow, but the service was great!”

“Here's the BEST news: they were open on a Saturday night when nearly every other place was closed (or closing). Second: the place was cozy and felt like it had been around forever. Now the bad news: while the pizza sauce and the meatball sauce was tasty, original and likely their secret (sauce; get it?), the pizza was among the worst my wife and I have ever had. In fact, to quote her, "The crust tastes like they made it a week ago and put it in the freezer, only to take out, thaw and make now." I add to that, it was thin but flat; no "loft" that comes with "homemade." And the meatballs? I dreamt of what they would have tasted like 10 minutes after they were formed and cooked; however, these? They were tough (overcooked), and nondescript (no zing). Lastly, and only a pet peeve, not a real indiscretion: the beer glass was room temp. After a long day of work, the last thing you want it a medium temp beer. Also, in all fairness, as much as I love pasta, we didn't try any; although it looked terrific at nearby tables, and those people were slurping it up like it was their last meal. Let me leave you with the best attributes: they greet you at the door like family, and our server was as nice as can be. Bottom line: if you want ample portions, with fair "home-cooking," and you're up late, this could be just the place along this stretch of North Lake Tahoe. Thanks Lanza's!”
