Jake's On The Lake

We came here for dessert after dinner at Za's. There food was fantastic and service GREAT! This place has great lake views and a delicious menu. It is a bit expensive, but worth it if you want a nice meal in a great setting.

Let's begin with the basics: the views are breathtaking, the food is exceptional, and the beverages are top notch. However, it is the servers (thank you, Allison), hostesses and management that really makes this restaurant shine. Jeff Hill, the General Manager, is as nice as they come. His attentiveness and gracious demeanor must be one of the top reasons for the success of this restaurant. First, he recommended the "perfect wine" to accompany their spectacular scallops atop crispy risotto cake, alongside sliced apples. It was the reasoning behind his choice that pulled me in (and sold me), making the selection sublime. Tammy's pork belly appetizer was thoroughly delicious, as was her quinoa salad. The peach cobbler that wrapped the dinner was just like Grandma makes. We had such a wonderful time, and allow me to overstate the obvious: there can't be a better view anywhere along the lake. Extra note: We had fallen in love with Jake's in Del Mar, which instantly brought happy memories of our wedding party, then learned, per Jeff, that while they share some of the family, traditions and recipes of the "original Jake's," they stand on their own. Either way, I'm certain Jake's On The Lake will be one of our very top go-to places each time we visit Lake Tahoe. Thanks again, Jeff and all the wonderful people; we'll see you again real soon!

Very good food, probably the best fish tacos I have had. Regular size noodle bowl is massive but very tasty(bring your appetite).

Luxurious New England style lobster roll. Chef Russell added crisp cucumber and fresh dill to liven up this New England staple. Large chunks of lobster. Simply delicious! The house dressing on the side salad was similar to a creamy Italian and I highly recommend it. The view of Lake Tahoe is fabulous.

The food was okay - the wait staff was slow - the views were great, the drinks were great. They had beer, too. We ( my lovely wife and some friends and I ) spent a little time in the joint, on more than one occasion, and will do it again. We're there for the food, sure, but, we're there for a nice spot to sit and watch the lake go by lazily on an afternoon of sun and shine.
If you go there, you might be disappointed. I have never been. But - some have. You just have to catch 'em on a good day, I guess. And I've been lucky enough to do that.
Keep a spot open for me where I can see the lake. Cheers!!
