First time here after reading some great reviews.
Venue is great, the smoker is right on the patio so you get the occasional waft of sweet smokey bbq. Felt pretty authentic.
Meat - was juicy and very tender. A fairly light smoke and could be eaten pleasurably without the need for sauce. Ribs were fall apart, brisket was juicy and just the right amount of fat.
Service - despite other negative reviews we found the service to be perfectly attentive and friendly. No problems there.
Overall: Brilliant! Best Q we’ve had in the valley.
Tasty BBQ restaurant in Palm Springs.
The menu has most offerings you would want at a BBQ joint.
I enjoyed the ribs and pulled pork. The fried pickles were real good too.
So why a 3 star rating?
Spicy!
There were 4 choices of BBQ sauce on the table and none were medium or mild. Maybe i don’t know authentic BBQ food but I was hoping for 1 choice that didn’t make me sweat.
Also, a bit pricey here.
I’m down to pay 20-30 bucks for a scrumptious BBQ dinner but the portion size was a bit small for the money spent.
Pretty tasty overall. I’m hoping for less spicy BBQ sauce options if/when I return.
A very delicious smoked dinner. The patio had a nice ambiance with lights and large tables for large groups. The only down fall, service was a bit slow the night my group was here.
Update: I came back almost one year later and here is my experience. We showed up at 6:43 and left at 8:57. We waited nearly an hour for our food after we ordered. Then we waited nearly a half an hour for our tickets. In regards to the food, my chicken this time was dry, well seasoned but dry. I cannot attest to how busy they were as I didn't eat inside, but come on, 2 HOURS for meat that should have been cooked before we showed up! Albeit, the staff was super friendly and apologetic, but after 2 trips and both times it being really slow service, I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon.
*The* place to go for exceptional barbecue in Palm Springs. Place is cozy, recently renovated, and has great indoor/outdoor areas. Hard to go wrong with what to order, but their pulled pork and brisket are amazing. Grab a drink with some friends and push away the doldrums of work at Smoke Tree.
