Looking for a great Japanese bite downtown? Binchoyaki is your place to visit. Very friendly staff, excellent food and the best selection of sake in the area. Try the various types of binchoyaki (food grilled over a Japanese grill) - even vegetarians can find a great plate to eat. It feels like a traditional Japanese izakaya - casual atmosphere, great food and lots of sake. Highly recommended!

Holy mother of God. Sacramento has never had more delicious, flavorful, wonderfully textured cuisine in its existence. I leave a lot of reviews, because I want to share the best of what our city has to offer. This restaurant blew my socks off! This isn't just a different version of the same old dish that you had countless times, this is unique, full of love, deliciously complex, and yet so familiar. I highly recommend you pull up the pictures that I'm attaching along with this post show this to your server and get everything on this post. The one thing that I did not take a picture of that I regret now, was the barbecued oysters. That was single-handedly the best and most flavorful oyster I've ever had, though not completely raw it had exceptional flavor. Unfortunately I could not order everything on the menu, fortunately they had so many options that I had to truly dig deep and pick which I thought would be the best. I plan on going back to this restaurant until I try every single thing on the menu because the chef here is doing it right. I believe in my heart of hearts that if I were to throw a dart at the menu or several darts there would not be one single thing that I would not have enjoyed. I have never said that before my life, I don't know if I will ever say that again. This was the most well-rounded and delicious meal I've ever had. Best of all with everything that I had, everything was full of flavor, but never ever did it taste too oily, or two saucy, or like the flavors were lost in a broth or in the dough. That is what I respect about this restaurant so much they perfected their dishes down to the details, they did not sacrifice flavor, experience, or texture at any level in the process. To whoever owns this restaurant, or the chef. I bow to you, thank you and I cannot wait to come back! Special shot out to Steve Nichols who we met at a bar near work and highly recommend we come here. I understand why he was so passionate about it, I now feel that same passionate love for this food and I cannot wait to go back!

The food is pretty good. The thing is that this place is small and it takes awhile to eat because it's mainly small plates. Me and my bf were there over an hour. Was the food worth the wait? Not really.
