Marketplace Grille

Good for take out and food quality. Kinda pricey.

Came here for lunch to try something different. I typically opt in for a burrito or a sandwich, but wanted to give this place a shot. Everyone has been telling me to try this place.
I ended up getting one of the bowls that included a skewer of beef and herb rice. (this rice is freaking delicious) This is definitely one of my favorite items here. It also included tabuli and pita bread all were fantastic. The seating is outdoors which is completely fine, people need to get some sun anyways. :) Overall enjoyed the food here.

The salad made with cucumber and tomatoes was too sour. I think it's called Shiraz Salad. The shrimp skewer was fine. The rice was so so. Service was excellent. Price is too much for skimpy meal.

Best place for Mediterranean food in town, and being that it's in La Jolla, almost guarantees a nice cool coastal temperature. Always fresh, always delicious. I've been a patron since 2001; my wife loves this place and will never hesitate to make the drive from Lemon Grove for their chicken skewers plate or Greek salad. May I suggest a personal favorite? Tony's special! I also highly recommend their salmon bowls.

Our last visit, just 2 days ago, was to the Carmel Valley location and they impressively manage to consistently deliver the same delicious culinary experience. The same can also be said for the Mira Mesa location.
