Loved the grilled shrimp taco. Bathrooms were clean and outdoor seating was an option. Very large sized tacos. Also liked the salsa they gave with chips.
This is a must visit in La Jolla. The whole meal is great. The servers are very friendly. You can not go wrong with the drinks. We ordered the horchata and it was the best I've ever had.
I have very mixed opinions on this place and I feel the best way to review it would be to break it down.
Service: The service was great. The emploo are very competent, friendly, and extremely helpful.
Flavors: The food was good and the flavors were well developed. They also went out of their way to present the food in an extremely appealing manner. However, the tortillas had a gummy texture which was slightly off putting and irritating once you look at the price per taco.
Price: This is where my love for the place wavers. I get it's in La Jolla, but $11 for 2 small tacos is overkill, even for a resort town! Where I'm from (SF Bay Area) $11 will get you at least 4 equally good tacos. The tacos (we were there for a happy hour special) ranged from $5 - $7 each! The quality was definitely good but $5 was far too steep. $4, still very expensive for 1 taco, would seem much more reasonable.
Love this place. Visit San Diego yearly, and I always come here at least once. A few tacos have a disc of half fried, half melted cheese on them. Rotating special tacos. House made, blue corn tortillas.
