Wet stone is a cute, stylish bistro in the Bankers Hill area. They had a nice happy hour while I was there and I went with the meaty, Brazilian churrasco and side salad. The chicken breast was very succulent, juicy. The merguez sausage was excellent. The beef was a nice sized portion. All with the salad went well with the citrus dressing.
Prices are reasonable for the creative Spanish tapas/Latin fusion cuisine.
The beer is excellent as well.
I have enjoyed this spot many times over the past few years, and have always enjoyed the salads, small plates, desserts, and spot on wine selections. The music is conducive to carrying on conversations. The decor is low key and pleasing. All in all, I can tell it is a labor of love.
Bespoke wine selection from around the world, and a great variety of tapas. Their weekday specials are a steal for the price. The music, decor, and ambiance are unique and refined making it feel like you stepped somewhere far away from of the busy city streets, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The perfect hip date or friend-date spot for those looking for a space allowing for great conversation.
On the outside, it looks like an unassuming house that blends with the surrounding neighborhood. But, as you enter, you enter a warm, homey atmosphere and hear the soft chit-chat of other patrons. The seating is close and intimate with just enough space so that you can hear your date while listening to all the background noise. When I went, we did not get any food. But, we did drink. If I were to recommend a drink, it would be the white sangria. It was as refreshing as it was delicious.
Nice little tapas venue in Bankers Hill. Street parking available. The food was good, nice selection of wines and beers. Vegetarian fare available, which is also a plus. Friendly vibe. Shared high top tables and counter by the window, several low tables as well. Good for a night out.
