Best Ethiopian food!! It’s a tiny little eatery in an Ethiopian grocery store. They are low on staff. So just have some patience. Because FOOD IS VERY DELICIOUS! We had a vegetarian combination plate, fir fir and sambusa. Everything tasted great. Also, special mention- their staff is so welcoming and generous. I highly recommend this little restaurant!!

The place is great. Being vegan I tried vegetarian combination, the food is so tasty with reasonable prices. I have also been to Ethiopia and the food here tastes very close to the authentic Ethiopian. I highly recommend it

We came here after going to the zoo and we were all hungry. Abay didn't disappoint! They are currently doing renovations so we were seated in the market area. The food was delicious! We ordered the veggie combo, Abay Special T'ibs, and the Ye - Dero Wot. Overall it was an amazing meal and we went home with our bellies full and satisfied.

EDIT: The menu says that the special tibs are 17.99 but it comes up as 19.99. that really irritated me. You cannot sell for a different price than is advertised on your menu. I will continue to go bc $2 isn't worth abandoning the place, but this is dishonest, and when I asked her to change the price she didn't know how. I will update this review once the matter has been resolved. And then the veggie platter was lukewarm this time.

Hands down the best Ethiopian restaurant in San Diego. The owner is super friendly. The place is no frills. But it doesn't have to be fancy given the quality of the food.

Just wish he'd pick up the phone so I could order takeout. You have to go in to order.

This was my first time having Ethiopian food, and it was a great experience. We got the vegetarian combination and fish, and both were excellent and very fresh. The service was also great!
