Yesenia's Mexican Food & Ice Cream

I live right across the street and I came here for the first time tonight cause they followed me on Instagram, which is cool. But my food took exactly 33 minutes to get out which wasn’t super cool. But I’m sure it was just a fluke cause several people who ordered after me got theirs first. They did put a big hunk of meat in my broth though which I’m sure they did cause the order took so long, so that’s cool (also the reason I bumped this baby up to 4 stars rather than 3). Overall not sure if I’ll be back, mainly cause there’s a few other phenomenal Mexican places close by I’m fairly loyal to. That’s all. Tacos were tasty.

Always friendly. Willing to accommodate if you have a request. The owner operator takes the time to chat with me. Every time I'm down from Los Angeles I come here. It's extremely consistent. I personally think it's one of the best fast casual Mexican restaurants if come to here in this area 100%.

Some of the best birria and cheese tacos are in small hole in the wall places in LA. Used to have to make mental notes that when in LA had to chase various vendors for their birria and cheese tacos. No more. I have an equally good product here in San Diego at Yesenia's. I had 3 of their birria and cheese tacos with a side of consome and it was the most satisfying lunch. These are only served on Monday's so make sure you mark it on your calendar. The staff is friendly and courteous. One of the highlight food experiences we've had during pandemic. Will go back to sample other things from the menu but if their other food is as good as these tacos, then add this place to the rotation because they were delicious. Every bite as good as the last.

Good taco shop with ice cream and Mexican frozen treats. Went in for ice cream but came upon the Hawaiian burrito while looking at the options. Incredibly delicious burrito! It had adobada meat, ham, pineapple and other ingredients I don't remember. I recommend trying it out. Best pay about it was the pineapple giving out a very refreshing feeling mixed with the meats.

The food is quality. You can tell they really care about serving good food. Atmosphere is chill and super clean. The workers are very friendly. I was given a sample of the cucumber lemonade upon arrival. Delicious and refreshing, so I ordered one. I ordered a veggie burrito. I enjoyed every bite. I'll be back to try some meat options and the ice cream soon. Don't think you'll be disappointed if you try this place.
