I went here for drinks and dinner with a friend to kick off the weekend and I was completely blown away! I hadn't been to a speakeasy in a very long time and I forgot how fun they are!

You walk into the lobby and immediately are drawn to the orange moped which signals you to Garibaldi. You walk through an "aquarium" where you get in the mode for seeing the bright orange fish, which makes me giddy! Then you step outside onto the patio where they have their own garden which they use for food & drinks. It's huge rooftop with beautiful views of the San Diego bay - along with the Embarcadero pier and the USS Midway. So perfect for sunset! They have tables for larger parties and smaller parties - both spaced out. It does get a little windy/chilly right on the water so I'd recommend bringing a sweater/light jacket. They do have heaters as well.

For food, there's so many options! I'd recommend starting off with the cheese plate, then diving right into Tuna Crudo, Grilled Suncoast Farms Artichoke, and Pork Belly. Looking back now, I wish I tried the pasta as well.

For drinks, there are so many good options for cocktails! We tried a lot of them and our favorites were Classic Aperol Spritz (DUH!), Carlos K. Krinklebein (but substitute Skyy for grey goose) and this one comes in a fun mermaid cup, and the Caprera Island Cocktail which comes in a fun tiki guy cup.

We ended with dessert of gelato and almond cookies.

Overall, a great place to enjoy San Diego with friends. The staff were all so attentive and friendly. Special shout out to Carlos and Natalie for taking such good care of us and giving us all the recommendations!

Aperitivos in the time of COVID can be tricky, but the fabulous folks at Garibaldi try really hard to make you feel safe and at ease and it worked...well the Aperol Spritz(s) sure helped! This small but mighty Speakeasy al fresco bar/restaurant opened only four days before the pandemic, but they have plowed on carefully and with lots of enthusiasm. I’d like to highlight Lorimay, Carlos and Natalie for their warm welcome and attentive care! The cocktails are delicious. The dishes are scrumptious and the view of the San Diego embarcadero is priceless! Please support this fledgling San Diego hideaway. Let’s keep industry peeps employed, especially when they work so hard to help us forget our worries, even if it’s just for a little bit!

I went to Garibaldi for a birthday celebration during the pandemic. Right from the beginning, parking is really easy to find as it’s inside Intercontinental hotel. The hostesses greeted us very warmly and showed us our table. Our server David was very knowledge and all the recommendations were highly liked. Started with Tuna crudo, the fish was very fresh and well seasoned and just bomb of flavors. We ordered it twice just because we couldn’t get enough of it. Then we ordered cauliflower with pine nuts and olive base sauce, Clams and for entree, we had Spaghetti with Crab urchin butter. Food was highly liked by us, impeccable service, great ambiance, music and great sunset and ocean views. All in all, I would love to give 10 stars if I can. Highly recommend!!!! Will visit soon for sunset as we missed it this time!!

Really cool spot! So glad I made it in before restaurants were take out only. Service was great, food was amazing, and finding it was an adventure. Here’s a tip for people who don’t regularly check emails, before your reservation check them! I’m dreaming of the day quarantine is over. Can’t wait to sit outside on their rooftop patio with a handcrafted cocktail in hand and watch the sunset on the harbor. Doesn’t get much better than that.
