Martinis Above Fourth | Table + Stage

Went for New Year's Eve, even though they were sold out, it was as though they didn't have a plan. Pre Fix menu had nice options, the catfish bites had nice flavor, I can only imagine how they would have tasted when warm. The corn chowder was water with corn pieces, did they not make enough?

Service was spotty at best, it took more than 10 minutes for our waiter to come to our table, and that was only fixed because guests neighboring us, who we had been chatting with, sent him over when he came to get their second drink order. The wonderful couple insisted he take our order first and come back to them. Unfortunately that caused their bottle of wine to take 15 minutes to get served, we joked that they must have had to run to a local liquor store to get more wine.

Now to be fair the prime rib and desserts were nearly perfect and the entertainer sublime. If not for these...the score would have been lower. My date said previous experiences on slower nights were better, I guess the moral of the story is don't be greedy, if you can't staff and plan a full house, then cut off sales at a lower number.

I would love to replace this review with a better one, but it will take me a bit of time before I want to come back.

Fun place, second story, need to take the elevator up. They have great staff, amazing martinis... In ANY flavor you can think of (I like the thin mint:) The outside balcony patio is great. Indie entertainment is always wonderful too. We always get the yummy fries too ?

The best and the most fun place to go in San Diego. Top notch performers for cabaret shows. Food is good and any of their long list of Martinis is awesome!

Charming Hillcrest neighborhood bar w restaurant service. Stage setup for lounge or nightclub acts that is the main attraction, but some may come for the wide variety of martinis. Live music is such a great treat.
