What can I say? Quick, easy, yet so delicious. This place is owned by the same guys of Ambrogio15. Even with this fast casual pasta concept they stick to the use of high quality ingredients which you can taste. One of my favorite pasta places in San Diego and easily better than any surrounding places in Little Italy. The Piazza della Famiglia outside make it perfect for a nice dining experience.

Semola is located inside Little Italy Food Hall they specialize in express quick-service pasta dishes limited to six dish. Service is walk up cafeteria-style place order and pay they'll hand you a buzzer. Basically you select your shape, sauce, and finishings and they do the rest. Since I know what they're dealing with I won't compare them to high-end italian joints that won't be fair because each place has their own ideas and concepts to execute. I'm certainly not going that route comparing a fiat to lamborghini just because it's in little italy doesn't mean every italian place nearby should be the same.

I got ravioli (6 pc) with beef and mushrooms sauce and grana padano to garnish off. Ravioli was cook perfectly pillowy soft and hot (al dente) I think it was on timer, but still had good texture rich flavorful ricotta & spinach taste. Beef and mushroom sauce was also tasty had nice amount of beef and mushroom pieces mixed together. I have no regrets or complaint came here with pasta craving left full and satisfied everything they did is good enough for me to drop by next time in town. And hopefully the expansion will be up and running by then. It's tuly beyond food court quality that I didn't expect. They've kiddo menu too!

I was not expecting the pasta to be so fresh and the sauce to have so much depth for a counter order place. The pasta hit the spot and it was not expensive! I'm not sure why some people think it was expensive and the portion was small. Maybe they should go to Olive Garden?

The service was friendly, helpful and the food came out quickly. You can tell the pasta and the sauces are made with high quality Italian ingredients because they are very flavorful and simple in a good way. My favorite was the ravioli with pesto. So delicious and just the right amount. You won't feel like you need a nap after eating it. The texture of the pasta was perfect and the sauces are not oily, greasy or heavy. I also love how they freshly shave real Italian cheese on top of the pasta at the end and you can mix and match any combinations you like which gives you a ton of options. Oh, and the prices are great. I'll be back often for sure! ??
