One of our favorite Happy Hours. Good wines and tasty small plates. Lovely outdoor setting on San Marcos Lake.
4.5. Nice venue. Outside seating is great in good weather and a wonderful view of the lake. Modern theme and ambiance. The food is good quality with excellent presentation and unique fusions that work well. Alcohol selection is limited but they'll make what you ask for. Overall, I will return and recommend to others.
We love at the lake and everything is great about Decoy and that includes the service but our butternut squash soup came out cool and not hot or even warm. The waiter brought two new soups out and they were warmish but not hot. We aren't picky but it's much better tasting when hot.
The other issue we had was the air-conditioning was blowing from the vent to the table and bouncing off the glass window onto us and our food. This is corrected by us not sitting there in future. We will go back but lunch was somewhat disappointing.
Update, had breakfast here yesterday and it was good and service was good. Historically, for whatever reason, the service is slow here but if you talk with your waiter or waitress and let them know you need more attentive service, then it's corrected. Morning is nice and quiet and peaceful with beautiful views.
Wow! Pleasantly surprised! First time at Decoy- the restaurant is beautiful, service was great, wine was lovely and food was yummy. It really seems like a hidden gem- I'm glad we found it!
A nice buffet with a carving station and tableside beverage service with endless mimosas. Only downside was the very bright light coming in through floor-to-ceiling, uncovered windows. It was pretty hard on the eyes and couldn't be avoided. Other than that, a great experience!
