Best fish and chips in town! This place is amazing. Great food, great prices, and fantastic service. Sam was my server and he went above and beyond. The kitchen guy was very nice too! Didn’t get his name but they both made me feel very welcome. I was visiting from Portland. I walked all over SF to find the best fish and chips, and THIS was the place! SUPER RECOMMEND.
The good news - if you have not been to Red's, going there is an SF bucket list experience so you just gotta go. The bad news - if you choose to go on a typical winter day in SF (read: dreary and not warm) this place is almost as cold inside as it is outside. It's not Wisconsin so you won't feeze to death but it's also not particularly comfortable trying to relax in a room that's cold enough to hang meat. Go anyway - preferably on a day when it's nice outside.
Pretty chill, clearly family run kinda place. Nice feel. Pricing is relatively cheap. Food was a bit greasy, but not abhorrently so. Was surprised by the sourdough bun for the burger. But it worked, so not an issue by any means.
Overall it's a cheap roadside burger joint, so don't expect to be wowed, but it's enough to fill you up for under 10 bucks if you need it.
I love breakfast here, but I only ever get the breakfast plate. Best crispy hashbrowns in the city hands down. Order the breakfast plate weekdays to get them (they do home fries on weekends). Eggs any style, choice of 1 sausage patty or 3 slices of crispy thick cut bacon, and choice of bread (get sourdough, duh!).
I love tjis little place great food! Great customer service! And good location.
