Koh Samui & The Monkey

Love it. Have eaten here four days in a row. Red curry is great. Good combination of sweet to salty. Only qualm is that it could be spicier. Love me some heat!

Koh Sumui has both an eat-in side and a take-away side. Being charged almost $5 for "a tea" in the eat-in side (and it wasn't good Thai tea, but some random up-marketed stuff) really put me off.

The take-away side, however, is worth a visit. (Although I find that Ozone, about one block away, has better portions and prices.) At Koh Samui the portions are somewhat dear, and even the take-away prices about $1 more than I expect, even when I know...

It's not that I didn't like the food, on either side, but I found the vibe was "take you for what you're worth, while you're still coming here" and there are better options very near-by.

This was one of my favorite spots for Thai food, they changed recently so don't know that will affect this review. Love the pad Thai, kemao, and see you. Nice people, great environment. Can get pretty cold some times though.

Sadly, they've cut down their service for 2018. No more dinner service, and you now order food from a check box list before you sit down. A huge departure from what this place used to be, which makes me worry that they are planning on closing up. 5 stars because I've been going here for almost 10 years and the food and service has always been excellent. But as it stands now, this is practically 2 stars now.
