California Fish Market restaurant

California Fish Market was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner. They have plenty of outside seating with heat lamps for those still wary of eating inside during the pandemic. The seating is in an alley which sometimes can help block wind but not always. Bring a jacket just in case.

The seafood is obviously the star at this place and is paired well with incredible pasta as you'd hope for at a centrally located North Beach establishment. My favorite pasta dish was the lobster ravioli with shrimp and some sort of vodka sauce. Save some bread to sop up the extra!

The grilled seafood appetizer was incredible. Muscles, clams, shrimp, whitefish and more. It was all cooked perfectly and highlighted the quality of the seafood with the simplicity of the grilled preparation.

I highly recommend this place!

The Marin oysters were unusually sweet and delicious. The prosecco cocktails were tasty and very generous.The crab chowder was divine! The linguine with white wine clam sauce was especially good. The linguine with pesto was top-notch! The Acme bread was wonderful.
The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and very welcoming! The indoor dining room was spacious and casually elegant.This new North Beach restaurant is well-worth returning to! 🥳♥️

I’m a big foodie and love seafood. This place may be my best seafood spot in SF (also lived in sf for 5 years). It’s so much better than Soto Mare next door. My partner had their steak which was cooked to perfection. And the beer thing is their service! I was 15 mins late with line out the door due to parking, the host was super nice. They saw we were cold outside w the headlamp and moved us in! The waiters were super nice and responsive. I’m taking our out of town visitors here. Also prices are very reasonable for SF

Great food and friendly service. The waiter was so nice and helpful. He knew I was splitting a dish with someone, so he went ahead and split it into separate dishes. All of the food we tried was great. I would definitely go again.

I recommend starting off with the Grilled Octopus, followed by the halibut, and ending with the Tiramisu. 🤤

Great place to celebrate. The combo crudo was fresh and delicious. The sampler was a great way to get a couple of each of the oysters. The seafood was great tasting but I wished the presentation was better. Uni was 4 pieces and tasty. Octopus was tender with good char. The waiters were super nice and the parklet was perfect for outdoor dining
