Self serve water near the back in cute mason jars. I would rate the food about average brunch food, french toast is pretty good and the sandwiches are too. Only thing is some of the sandwiches are stuffed with a lot so it’s hard to bite through. The place can get crowded near lunch time.”

“The Mediterranean scramble was delicious. We came for brunch on a Sat morning and were able to get a table for two in 15 minutes. I was already familiar with the original Alana's Cafe in Redwood City before coming here; I'd always get the oatmeal pancakes. Super yummy and this place serves the same quality of food. The oatmeal pancakes can be quite filling so order the short stack (2 pancakes instead of 3) if you're not too hungry. For drinks, I appreciated that they had decaf options for the tea. I had the English Breakfast tea and they serve it as loose-leaf, steeping in a tea ball inside the mug. It's up to you how long to steep the tea for. I steeped mine for 4 mins and it was fine. It tasted very good for a decaf tea. I like to have my tea with milk and sugar. I'm particular about the balance of milk, sugar, and tea intensity. So I was a bit dismayed when one of the servers came and poured some more hot water into my mug without asking me first. I know he was taking initiative and trying to be helpful but if I had realized what was happening I would have asked him not to do that. I had to put the tea ball back inside to recover the balance that I wanted in my tea.”

“Originally, I thought I wouldn’t be satisfied with the tuna salad for brunch, but after finishing the meal with a delicious decaf coffee, I was actually perfectly full. The only reason why I give it 4 stars, is because the salad had canned beets, canned carrots, and canned pickles. Thus, it didn’t taste very fresh. However, I also tried the dark chocolate pyramid desert for $6.25, which was absolutely delicious! I would definitely get that desert again!”

“Above average coffee spot down on Broadway. This is the best spot I have found in the hood so far. They seem to be loved by their regulars, which are plenty. The menu is fairly diverse, I picked out a popular breakfast sandwich to pair up my sugary latte. The size was fantastic, greens or fruit on the side. However the ingredients fell short in terms of freshness. It really was a great combination of vegetables along with the sausage, but it was cooked in with the heavy crema so I could not get a feel for the sliminess of the veggies versus the cream. Either way it was decent and I recommend this spot if you find yourself on Broadway.”
