A little disappointed this visit. Most of the soup dumplings arrived punctured. Ate several to actually get one with soup inside. There is a reason why they were mentioned in the Michelin Guide in 2016 and 2017 only.
Great food, great service, great quantity. Really nice place.
Do not miss:
1. Chongqing chicken
2. house special fried rice
3. curry chicken
Awesome food. Loved every bit. Portions are large, order accordingly.
Good spicy food at reasonable prices.
I had the eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子) and the mapo tofu (麻婆豆腐) and enjoyed both.
The eggplant impressed me the most. The eggplant was silky and slightly smoky. I liked the garlic and broad bean paste flavors of the oil, as well as how they were contrasted with Sichuan peppercorn and vinegar. Wood ear mushroom and bamboo added some textural contrast.
I ordered mapo tofu without meat. I remember liking the slowly escalating heat and subtle notes of broad bean paste in the sauce. The tofu itself was a bit less memorable.
Service seemed to be a bit slow, consistent with other reviews, though I tend not to account for that in my ratings.
