(February 2, 2019, 2:43 am)Rolls are subpar in my opinion but my vegetarian friend loves their veggie options so I’ve been a few times. Average spot but service is nice. Parking is street and metered. Cost, somewhat fair.

(December 27, 2018, 8:15 pm)Probably best value for sushi is downtown San Mateo. Sushi chefs are competent but not exceptional (sorry guys!). However, what they lack in precision they more than make up for in friendliness. Their rolls are the best way to go; good value and generous portions. Staff is always polite and attentive. I've never had a bad meal. Lastly, the "private" shoji rooms are excellent for special meals ... or a little romance (oh my!).
