Really love this place! The food is outstanding... i think I could be happy just eating all their appetizers. You have to try the bacon wrapped dates appetizer, it's stuffed with goat cheese and drizzled with balsamic glaze. But you don't want to miss the entres - my seabass came circled with mussels and shrimp and was outstanding. The waitstaff was attentive, helpful and friendly; helping those in our party(you know who you are) make a meal decision so the rest of us could eat!
2nd time around, our service was much better. I will go back again. I am adding one more star to my review.
It is a nice place. The service could have been better. The food was good, quality and the quantity was just right.
Great service. Strong drinks. Good seared ahi tuna. Tough and chewy pork chop. The Baked Alaska dessert was good, but too hard to eat. The brownie was dense and cold. When we mentioned our difficulty cutting the brownie with the spoons they brought out a steak knife.
It's a very good restaurant but the bar has been voted the best in San Mateo. I met a few friends there and had excellent service, great food and exceptional libations. It's lively but not too loud to have a good conversation. The building has character; it's in a fine old bank building. It's a fine spot for dinner as well.
Solid but not great. Feedback from my co-workers was that dessert was better than the mains. I didn't have any wow moments with regard to the food. But didn't have any note worthy disappointments either. I'd say good for drinks and business meals but not something I'd seek out on my own dime.
