I was very impressed by this place. All of the dishes felt elevated and had interesting and delicious flavors. Everything was nostalgic for the mix of Pacific islander/Asian flavors you find in Hawaii. Initially when I looked over the menu, I thought the prices were a little high. Once we got the food it made sense; the portions were huge! --we got brunch and dinner out of it.
We got the Dutch baby ( loved the addition of the mochi balls), the chicken and waffles and the Locals Only breakfast. Everything was outstanding! We will be back.
Good food and ambience, portion is pretty huge - two dishes allow two girls to finish two meals. Liked the mochi pancake (pineapple is flavor of the day, that changes daily) and the onomiyaki we ordered, for sure this Hawaiian fusion place has a legit menu. However, their management definitely needs to improve - they’re totally not arranging walk-in guests as readily as reserved guests. My friend and I waited at least 30min when there are fairly many seats available, and we were forced to switch seats for three or four times even after we’re seated. Suggest you reserve first instead of walk-in.
Food was good. Okonomiyaki and Chicken Waffle were standouts. Service kinks need to be worked out. Waited a while for food. For a table of 4, one person’s dish came out after 10 minutes while 2 people had to wait another 10 minutes. Large quantities and high prices. $165 total bill for 4 dishes.
Reservations are highly recommended. Some people walking in on a Sunday brunch were turned away. Place is packed and seating even with reservation could be slow.
Had high expectations coming here. We were quite disappointed especially with the 20% default service charge. Service was slow and not attentive nor was it really friendly. Other tables got better service than us. Food looked delicious but was just mediocre. There are other places much better. Quantities are huge - too big for my preference.
Sadly, we won’t be coming back.
This is our first time visiting their new location, we have been going to their other location a lot of times.
The decor is clean and relaxed. They have a large outside sitting area which I like, with heaters too.
Service is good.
Food is flavorful, however, everything was about 40% too flavorful. I would like the seasoning to dial back a notch, especially with the salt.
The rice is a little too soft and mushy. The potato is very crispy and flavorful but could use less salt. Both proteins were quite salty that we couldn’t finish, as well as the miso soup.
But I can see everything could be perfect by bringing down the saltiness.
Otherwise, everything is lovely and we will be back.
