We found the perfect event location for our company holiday party at Rise Woodfire in San Mateo! We had a great time and so did our clients. The food was great for adults and kids alike. The patio space was great too. We initially had concerns about the proximity to the train tracks, but it’s funny - we heard the train once and after that it was like we just didn’t notice it. The space itself was a great size, the layout and organization of the space was perfect to accomodate our crowd, and have the additional bar there made for a good focal point for guests. They even had the space setup to accommodate a third-party photography company and photo scene. The Rise team made this all great with Elham and Darryl lining everything up so that when we arrived, things were already in motion. During the event, Israel and his team were incredible organized, calm, and kept the event moving along. We never had to worry about food running out, and they kept me up-to-date along the way and always made sure to find me with any questions. Our team greatly appreciated them for making our event go off not just without a hitch, but wonderfully executed. Thank you thank you!
Service was adequate, but not exceptional. Atmosphere was decent. It was a perfectly fine place for dinner and I enjoyed the meal thoroughly, but not something to write home about. We got six different pizzas so we could share slices. All were prepared nicely, but only two of them really shone. The date pizza (8-9 o'clock in the picture) was a standout.
This place is amazing. The atmosphere, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and definitely the food. Make sure you make room for dessert or take it togo. 😋
We came for a late lunch/early dinner. This was a great meal! We had a wedge salad $15, medjool date, goat cheese pizza $20, margherita pizza $19
pesto lemon shrimp pizza $22 and bbq beef ribs $37 for four people. The food came out fast and service was excellent. We had a vegetarian person in our group and he liked their veggie options a lot. Out of all the dishes we agreed the pesto lemon shrimp pizza was the best. The only drawback is the table where we sat, patio/outdoor area smelled like wet dog.
