The Halal Guys

Solid and dependable franchise of the famous New York fast food carts, right in downtown San Mateo. Currently using prepackaged white and red sauces to keep everything moving quick and clean.

This location does not have online ordering that I've been able to find, but the meats are cooked ahead of time and held at serving temp, so the line moves quickly. Also runs ads for BOGO on entrees on the back of receipts at the local Safeway, if that's of interest.

We like a lot to go out. Last night we went to this fine place which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely experience there with delicious dishes and a nice team and a distinguished chief cook. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt come back soon. Highly recommended.

The food is pretty good. However, they do not deliver forks. So you'll probably want to purchase a hand food. Of course, if you don't mind eating their bowls with your hands, then go for it. I've ordered 3 times from them and no fork - it's a good thing many of the hotels I stay at have forks.

I've always been a fan of Halal Guys, their food has never given my stomach any issues and the portions that they serve keeps you nice and full for a while. I learned about halal guys in LA few years back, then I visited them at other locations in other cities like San Francisco until I found out that San Mateo location was opening up and that made me happy, now that it's closer to my office. I eat there almost weekly basis. With this 1 year location nothing changed, good service and delicious food like usual.

Fast service. I mix my combo whenever I go to Halal Guys. Every spicy bite contains salty meaty goodness with balanced lettuce and rice. Great spot to go to if you're out in the cold and need energy.
