This place is really good, I particularly like the pork katsu with their house curry, if youre lucky you'll get extra potato in your curry and that's a blessing. I also like their menu, it's simplified which should indicate fresher ingredients. At this time (covid), they only have one chef (who is also cooking for Su's Bowl orders, literally a beast). They also recently introduced their "phreshteas," the drink itself is very refreshing but the boba tends to be a hit or miss. Overall, a must try in IV.

The place is quiet enough and the room is pretty large as not to feel cramped. For a place in IV, they have the best ramen around - not on par with Nikka Ramen but easily accessible. Their highlight is obviously their curry. I have tried both their tonkatsu and chicken curries and enjoyed them a lot. Upgrade to a large serving for the full experience: small servings are on the disappointing side when it comes to the quantity of curry in the bowl. Their curry refill policy is a bit awkward and I have yet to experiment with it so I can fully understand its extent. Overall a nice experience and a nice place to go in IV!

Well, the Ramen here is just like instant noodle, salty and awful.
However, I strongly recommend the curry here, especially the chicken curry.
It is tasty and really a big plate. The regular size curry may be enough for 2 people who eat not so much.
Unlike India curry which is thin and suitable for bread, this Japanese style curry is perfect for who like to eat rice. When the curry mixed with the rice, the magic happens.
Anyway, don't try the Ramen, but eat curry here.

If this wasn't in Isla Vista it would probably get 2 stars. But I keep seeing student reviews saying it's good food for IV, so I get it. I got the tonkotsu ramen and my husband got the tonkotsu curry. Both were okay. The ramen looked like it was just thrown together, the soup was luke-warm and the noodles were pretty standard. The broth had some richness to it, and was decent, but I wish it had actually been hot. The slices of pork were excellent, and the egg was the perfect balance of soft & hard-boiled. The curry sauce and the pork katsu was good, well flavored, but the sauce had maybe 5 little veggies in it..not super substantial in that department. Service was okay. But our server came around with the bill even though we were far from finished eating, kinda awkward. Overall I can see how students find this to be a decent spot for ramen in this area.
