Char West

We went early so they weren't doing Lunch yet. But the Fish and Chips was really good as was the French toast sadly ended up getting cold fast the service was great as they were patient.

A great place for breakfast or lunch, on the pier. Outside tables. Too bad that East Beach Grill is gone - a long-time SB favorite about a mile away, that lost its lease when the city decided to upgrade the building and wanted more income from the tenant. Some of the old staff, along with the original owner, are now at Char West. Celebrate Santa Barbara by eating here. You won't regret it.

I really wanted to give this a higher rating. first because the view is absolutely spectacular, whether you're indoors in cold weather or outdoors in the summer. And the staff is wonderful. Narita and Donnie especially are carryovers from the East Beach Grill and I always enjoy seeing them. But I confess the food is below standard and expensive. The fish and chips is very expensive at $16, and although it's okay, it's nothing special. Prices on the other items are also a bit too high. So with all due respect to the staff I think it's really only a good stop if you're already on Stearns wharf and don't want to pay the prices for Moby Dick's or the first fancy place.

Best breakfast with an awesome view. Best kept secret!! You have to order their pancakes with fresh fruit!!
