“I came all the way from NY and was visiting San Jose and needed a place to eat. So I came here and honestly it was one of the best restaurants I’ve been too. The staff was great and super friendly and really showed there care towards the customers. The food was really good and was worth every penny. There chicken over rice was superb! I’ve never experienced a restaurant that can serve excellent food and carry on excellent service! Anyone that lives in San Jose, I highly recommend coming here! You won’t regret it at all!”

“It's been a long time since I've been to this Taco Bell, wait, what it's not Taco Bell anymore? JK. Pupuseria is a Salvadorian restaurant located in the old Taco Bell building (now painted blue and white) has inside and outside seating. The menu was kind of confusing for me as it's in Spanish (I think) then in some areas translated into English. After a while I was able to figure it out. I ended up ordering the stew chicken with potatoes carrots and salsa came with rice, beans and tortillas (Everything home made) I also got one of their homemade mixed fruit drinks. (really good) The food took about 15 minutes to prepare and came to us piping hot. The spices were well blended in the preparation of the food and there was a lot of food. Best way I can describe the chicken stew is....well a Salvadorian take on stew. Overall a hearty meal and a nice change of pace.”

“I come here pretty often and I'd say it's one of the better subways. They have WiFi but you have to ask for the password. And usually you come in through the back because that's where the parking is. I had never had a bad experience until today when Ana was the only one working (her coworker didn't show up on time) and there was a line of like 10 people waiting. I felt bad for Ana but she was so nice and working as fast as she could to get through the line. She deserves a raise.”

“I really, really enjoy Krispy Krunchy Chicken. I love the chicken strips which are really spicy, juicy and very meaty and I love them with the dipping sauces, esp. the BBQ, Sweet n' Sour and House brand. I don't really like the bone-chicken cos it's a little dry but the flavor is great. The biscuits are absolutely delicious and the potato wedges are gigantic and a meal unto itself. This place makes my mouth water every time I think about it!”

I wouldn't plan to come after 7PM. Last few times I showed up around 7:30 and their open sign was off and didn't seem like they were open.”

“Update: New ownership, as of a few months ago, the food has gone downhill. Down from 5 stars to 3 at most. Really tasty Mediterranean style food. Also, a delicious brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Our women's group meets there once a month for lunch. They have kindly agreed to serve us family style, and continue to replenish the plates, as needed. Normally, we get a delicious chicken dish (different each time, rotates), a couple different types of salad, lentil soup, pita bread with hummus and falafels, ethnic dessert, and hot mint tea. Great service.”

“I was looking for shrimp cocktail and I was not disappointed! Generous servings and super delicious! 2nd review I went back with a friend, what a difference from my first visit. Must've been a different cook. My shrimp cocktail had very few shrimp and avocado. Mostly sauce. For 16.00 that was a steep price for 7 shrimp! Completely dissapointed compared to my first visit. My friend had the special which was snapper tacos......she had to search for the fish which was a skimpy sliver of snapper covered in a huge mound of cabbage. Sorry......can't say I will be going back and definitely won't be recommending the place ????”
