Good food! Definitely will come back again!

Our trips to the Monterey peninsula usually takes us through Holister and right by this rest stop, which is located on route 152.

The rest stop is a popular stop for tourists and locals alike. With locally grown fruits and vegetables to candies to satisfy even the sweetest of tooth. There is plenty to see and do here for everyone.

There is an elaborate playground to include a carousel and an actual miniature train ride for younger children.

There is a wine tasting room to a candy shop and restaurant on grounds. Anyone ambitious enough can even setup their tent in the nearby campground and there is even room for RV's.

After our usual sightseeing of the surrounding grounds we decided to sit down for lunch at the "Casa De Restaurant."

We stopped in on Easter Sunday and was greeted by waitresses dressed in bunny outfits.

The food at the restaurant isn't known for anything special other than "home cooked meals."

I ordered their fried chicken and in my opinion disappointed. The chicken had no flavor, tough to chew on, and looked like it was prepared yesterday. The mashed potato and gravel was the best part. The side dish of broccoli was wilted along with the carrots.

We ordered cinnamon rolls but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive because they forgot the order. This was also the case with coffee refills.

Although our dining experience was disappointing the overall atmosphere here at this rest stop was very nice and I would recommend anyone to stop in and judge for yourself.

Second experience was better than the first. Ordered the prime rib dip... And man was it on point. The meat was so tender like butter mmm

Our waitress was attentive and the food was good. New York was tender and flavorful. My husband had Chicken Fried Steak and loved the hash browns. We would definitely stop again.

Great experience! Elias was our server, he provided excellent excellent service. Food was cooked well and delicious! Highly recommended.
