Been here twice now, and got the same thing both times. They're still in the process of setting up, so things have a bit of an 'under construction' vibe to the decor, but it's perfectly serviceable for now.

    Thoughts on the food:
The Roost House Sandwich, is (in my opinion) the best fried chicken sandwich in DTPA, beating Patio, Tap Room, and Dan Gordon's for flavor, juiciness, and quality. It is unfortunately smaller than the others, but still adequately sized (I'd argue Dan Gordon's chicken sandwich is a bit too much honestly). It is well topped, and I am a fan of pickles and slaw on a chicken sandwich (I'd guess they'd customize it at request).

The sandwich only comes with some mixed greens as a side, and the dressing is sparse to nonexistent. This means that it can be a light meal if you don't order anything beyond your sandwich. That said, prices are fairly low, so really all they've done is made getting a side optional. I'm guessing that may change once they are "fully" open.

To make up for the lack of fries on the menu (a bit of a bummer to be honest) we filled out our meal with the potato salad and it was excellent. Mustard forward with a tasty addition of Turmeric, so if you prefer your potato salad to be mayonnaise soup, you may be disappointed, but I found it quite refreshing.

    Drinks:
For beverages, I was looking for a beer -- they have no tap (yet? Hopefully that will be fixed once remodeling is done.) but the selection that they've chosen of bottled and canned beers is decent.

    Overall:
If this place wasn't just starting, I'd probably give it about 4 stars, but DTPA has a severe shortage of reasonably priced places serving normal human food like this so I'd encourage locals to check it out. It feels like it might turn into a local icon.

Or not. I don't know, I just love fried chicken.
