I've been to the original location in Los Altos a few times and was excited learning they were opening one closer to home. The restaurant occupies what was used to be Iroriya and is located next to Orenchi ramen -- all are owned by the same restaurant group.

I made a reservation on the first day they opened and was initially told that they were 30 mins late. But eventually they were able to seat us on time.

They're specialized in yakitori. Some of our orders: chicken thigh, chicken wings, karaage, chazuke, duck gizzard, and beef tongue. All were good and flavorful! Some orders took longer time to come out I think because they forgot (I expected some glitches during first opening day), but the food quality is good and consistent with their original location in Los Altos.

    Would go back again!

A new branch of SUMIKA in Santa Clara at the place where Iroriya was. A good place for Japanese food.
