Salmon River Saloon

Address: 30001 Cecilville Rd, Forks of Salmon, CA 96031, USA

Restaurant

“Back in 1979 I was working in industrial reforestation, they were US Forest Service contacts. We stayed in Cecilville for about 3 months. There used to be a bunkhouse from the CCC days with a crude woodburning stove and wooden bunks. Cecilville was out in the middle of nowhere. It was hard work but good pay. I don't know who owned the place back then but they seemed like good people, showers food , water and beer were always available to accommodate laborers ...tree planting is hand planting , few even know it exists, it is one of the hardest jobs in the world...we killed scorpions and timber rattlesnakes quite often...it's like a blur because of how hard it is 7 days a week non-stop...you burn about 6000-8000 calories a day doing it...I miss Cecilville !”

“Another good Mexican restaurant. Authentic and flavorful food and drink. We ordered a shrimp and carnitas taco with extra rice and a carnitas burrito. Delicious! So I ordered a Carnitas plate for take out too. Very clean restaurant and restroom.”

Jolly Kone Drive Inn

Address: 223 Main St, Tulelake, CA 96134, USA

Restaurant

“Interestingly a nice stop off after hours of driving without very many food choices. The burgers were good, you could tell that they were made by hand. The chicken nuggets looked liked McDonalds nugget (by shape), but the meat tasted way better and the outside too, it was seasoned very nicely and had a slight crunch. The French fries are the old crinkle cut, nothing fantastic - but was a good addition to the food we’d ordered.”

Mike & Wanda's Family Dining

Address: 423 Modoc Ave, Tulelake, CA 96134, USA

“The BEST and I mean, THE BEST chicken fried steak and eggs. Great customer service, friendly, clean. BIG cups of coffee and never saw the bottom of them. Definitely will go back again.”
