I had an amazing time at the Greta Sand Dunes. I was able to rent a board and went down many of the dunes. I wiped out a few times but still had a blast. The creek on the way to the dunes was also nice to walk through bare foot.

We stopped in at this little road-side Oasis for breakfast after our adventure in the Great Sand Dunes National Park and we weren't disappointed at all. Typically a place this far away from everything could charge what they want and serve whatever sub-par nibbles they please so we were really happy when we were served delicious food at a fair price. My boyfriend got the 3 egg omelette and a couple pancakes and I got the breakfast burrito with green chili sauce and we were both extremely pleased with our meals and our service. Our host was very friendly and our waitress was attentive to our needs as well not to mention that the coffee is DELICIOUS. I'm not a black coffee girl but I enjoyed some here for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this spot. No regrets ❤️

This campground is basically a large gravel and crushed stone parking area with sites along one edge. Each site is edged with a timber fence and has full hookups, a picnic table, and grille. Sites are small but adequate. Each one has a tree to the rear of the site. The interior roads are gravel and crushed stone and wide enough to navigate in any size rig. There is a playground for the kids. Management is nice, checkin was efficient, the park and buildings are well maintained, and there is a great view of the dunes and mountains. It’s only about 5 minutes to the entry to the national park. There is a convenience store and restaurant on site. There are no other grocery stores or restaurants nearby, so stock up before you come. Our only complaint is that the wind seemed to be constant during our stay, which kicked up a lot of dust from the gravel lot and roads. The experience could have been improved if the lot and roads were watered and/or treated to reduce the dust. Still, if we were to return to Great Sand Dunes NP, we’d stay here for the convenience of it’s proximity to the NP.

This is the closest private RV park near the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the only one for 30 miles.
1st tip: reservations are very helpful if you are wanting a RV spot.
The spots are little close, but doable. They are all pull through spaces with easy exiting. Road up & complete site is gravel & bumpy, so please drive slow. This helps keep the dust down.
Showers & restrooms were clean, plenty of hot water, & good pressure. Understand all the RVs, cabins, & camp sites use the same building. I still had no problems because I shower early in the evening. Only negative was people driving down from camps even at 11PM to shower.
There is a nice small playground for kids, but no dog run/fenced area.
The staff live on site which helps keep the stupidity out.
The store really helps due to the 30+ Mile drive to the nearest town.
No large lights outside which helps with seeing stars. Shower area has orange lights under eves to keep down light pollution. Please keep your RV outside lights off to let everyone enjoy the night skies.
2nd Tip: don’t expect to check in early, they are pretty set on this.
FYI: dogs must be on leash & cannot be left tied up outside. Misbehaving dogs or kids can get you removed.
Only big negative is people walking through RV sites from cabins & tent sites to use facilities. There is no pathway for them. This is very annoying, causes dogs to bark, they do it late into the night, right next to picnic table, stepping over water hoses/sewer lines/electric cords.

When I was there last week we rented a sand sled with no difficulties. We get tired so quickly walking back uphill I was glad we only rented one to share between the three of us. The menu looked good but we ended up eating all of our meals in our camper that we rented from the lodge above them. I was surprised that the ice cream bars were only $3 which is cheaper than what they were in my Hilton branded hotel later in the trip.

Here is my screenshots of the menu that I took to share with my wife. This was 2 weeks before memorial Day 2022.
