Pica's Boulder Mexican Taqueria

This is one of my favorite Boulder Mexican restaurants. It's fast casual (order at the front, get a number, food brought to your table). Prices are a little high, but the food is delicious and a little less greasy than other equally tasty places in Boulder (to me).

I got the picas smothered chicken burrito as seen in the picture. It's so good I couldn't wait to take the picture so I ate some first ???????? anyways, this place is great, they also have Maine root root beer (and other flavors) which is really awesome. It is clean, the staff are nice and professional and the food is reasonably priced. Would recommend

The tacos were very tasty. I had a chicken and a carnitas and both were spiced very well. The variety of choices was wonderful. And they had specials too. The variety of drinks was great too. I had horchata which was very good. I would go back if I was in Boulder again.

Solid quick and casual Mexican eats
I've enjoyed eating here on my own, with coworkers, with my wife and as a family with our two small children. In fact, I often see many families with children here before or after sports practice and the like.
For me it's location lends itself to being a good place to get some reasonably priced, reasonably good food on your way to and from somewhere else.
Order at the counter, take a number and find a seat in one of two distinct seating areas inside or a nice shady and spacious enclosed patio outside. Atmosphere is simultaneously relaxed and upbeat. There are board games and books and often soccer matches are being shown on one wall-mounted tv.
Beer and decent margaritas available at the counter. Pretty standard Mexican fare for Boulder. Tacos, burritos, beans and rice. A salad or two. All of it pretty good, decent selection for vegetarians and folks with dietary restrictions.
I'd give 5 stars if the food were a little better or a little cheaper. As it is, 4 stars are well earned and I'll keep coming back.
