Came here for a Valentines Day Special with my husband. The food was really well cooked, we got prompt service, staff was nice and it was a good price. 👍 Really enjoyed ourselves. Since changing to the lounge it seems to be a nice place to eat.

Everything about this place is pretty amazing. One of the staff was from Nepal, we had such such good conversation.

Absolutely without a doubt the best Indian cuisine I've had! I came for the samosas but stayed for the creamy chicken tikka masala! Everything was delicious, especially the cheese jalapeño naan bread. Sure wish we had a Y&Y in Round Rock, Texas! Yum!

I was in La Junta to watch my nephew's football game. It was a cold and breezy evening. I wanted something warm like a bowl of soup. Imagine my utter surprise when I googled " restaurants close to me" and the very first suggestion was Yak & Yeti. I was completely surprised that an Indian, Nepali restaurant had opened. I have been struggling for the 5 years that I have lived on these Plains full time to find a restaurant that satisfied my very picky palette. It was around 8 o'clock on a Thursday night. It wasn't busy. I I started off with a delightful mug of hot Chai. Perfectly spiced. As I was looking over the rather extensive menu, I was brought a light as a feather, crispy, flecked with cumin seeds papadam with 4 different chutneys. The tomato and plum were my 2 favorites. I am a huge fan of ginger beer so I decided to try their honey ginger soda. It did not disappoint. I ordered a onion kulcha. It was pillowy and heavy with red onion. For my entree, I decided to try what I knew my better half would like. ( since I decided then and there that this was going to be the restaurant that I always requested we dine at when together in town). The chicken ginger kabob was incredible. Succulent, expertly seasoned and more than enough to share or, in my case, leftovers. The sizzling presentation was lovely. A bowl of delicately spiced basmati rice accompanied the chicken. I also ordered malai kofta to go. It's a type of vegetarian dumpling made with ground veggies, cheese, cashews, and dates. Simmered in a lovely gently spiced cream sauce. I tasted it when I got home. Sublime. I now have enough amazing food to feed myself for the weekend while my Hunny is back in the mountains looking for our last few elusive cow pairs!!!!!!
Please step outside of your comfort zone if you have never eaten Indian cuisine before. I absolutely promise, you will not be disappointed.
