Me and my husband went there for our anniversary. Beautiful place to be, it's by the mystic river so it's just breathtaking. The food was amazing we had the clam chowder which was the best by far, and the lobster alfredo amazing. We were seated right away we made reservations for 8pm. We were welcomed on arrival. We had two waiters they did a great job. Our experience was amazing we will definitely be back whenever we visit and we already recommend this place to family and friends.
We went for a nice dinner for two. They seated us on a wall bench that was nice but it was cold this evening. We asked to be moved to a table near the heaters and within a few minutes they found us a seat next to the Mystic river and a heater! The wait staff was very accommodating, polite and professional. The food was fantastic! We asked to speak to the manager and compliment the entire staff at S&P for their above and beyond service! You must visit and you won't be disappointed!
The view is great. The food and the service was better than the view. When we didn't find anything that we desired on the desert menu. They directed us to a bakery in town. We love that unselfish attitude and community support.
Its Mystic so expect higher prices than average. Water views of downtown are beautiful. Had the oysters Rockefeller ($12)which were delicious. Had the shrimp and grits which was absolutely incredible. Very flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Downside was the charge for cod and fries at lunch time and charge was $26.00. Seemed a tad steep for lunch.
I did enjoy my time there. From the ambiance, drinks and the food. However, with a reservation, it still took forever to get seated. We sat to the right corner of the restaurant which was beautiful with immediate view of the bridge! We had calamari for an appetizer which was good but slightly salty. I also had the bouillabaisse which was REALLY good. I recommend that you order some pasta or rolls with it as well. Oh and the sangria, AMAZING! Would I go back, yes! But the wait is ridiculous so be prepared to sit at the bar and have a few cocktails prior.
