“I was in town on a business trip.. and felt like having dinner at a classic diner and seen Zip's Diner as I was driving to the hotel. I went back to Zip's after settling in. Nice place, original 50's diner but it was close to closing time just enough time to get a bite.. ordered the cut steak pieces with mushrooms, onions, peppers and mashed potato with gravy and mixed veggies. Didn't care for the mixed veggies.. they looked and tasted bland, they were canned. Wish they could serve with fresh veggies. The steak was good and filling.. the experience was okay, could be much better. Prices are moderate overall.”

Their General Chao's chicken had a wonderful flavor. Much of the food I sampled was a little overcooked. However, I had to rely on someone choosing for me as I have difficulty walking temporarily. Being able to choose for myself could make a difference. Will advise more later.”

“Giant pizza is excellent average pizza. There seems to be nothing remarkable about this pizza. Along with this, there is nothing remarkably dissatisfying about the pizza either. When giants offered their giant sized subs we purchased them quite a bit, these disappeared and our frequency of purchased diminished. While most of their deli meat is fine the tuna has been a subject of debate in our family. Mixed with mayo and having oil added on the sandwich, the tuna seems to have a filler added to it. We arent sure what, but it's not like having tuna at any other local deli. There is no problem with visiting here, just go in knowing WOW will not be a word brought to mind.”

“We've been here several times since Billy sold to the new owner, and we are not disappointed with the continued excellent menu. Pizza is #1, omelets are the best in Connecticut and club sandwiches are made the way they are supposed to be, physically manageable and top quality. A previous reviewer claimed to have waited over an hour for service - sorry, that just doesn't happen here. The wait staff is always courteous, friendly and efficient. This is a 20 minute drive for us from home and well worth it. We'll continue coming as often as we can.”
