Tuesdays are 1/2 price burger night. Nice place to enjoy conversation and food with family or friends. Waitstaff is great.
The Back Burner is a Hockessin staple. Their dinner menu lacks along with the decor. I say if you want to try them out go for lunch. They have their pumpkin bisque soup which is delightful and their signature item. I've never been disappointed with lunch.
Went there for lunch today with a group of 28 co workers. They had us set up in a nice cozy back room that was great for our party. The servers were very pleasant and attentive to our needs and tried very hard to get the food out to all of us as quickly as possible but with a party of 28 a few people had to wait a extra minute. Food was very good, I got the shaved prime rib sandwich and from what others got and the comments I heard everyone seemed very happy! Really nice atmosphere and a hard working staff!!
The place was very clean & the food reminds me of the 99# restaurants in Massachusetts & the prices are fine; The hostess / waitress was a little bit rude & I had taken the roll of putting the four of us to a both instead. The hostess & waitress was the same person & she had made a very loud issue about this for the public in this restaurant to be NOTICED & that's NOT a very POLITE thing @ all. The other waitstaff were exclusively wonderful to us totally.
I have a Degree in the Culinary Arts field as a Pastry Chef & Head Chef in the most wonderful (5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ hotels from Boston Massachusetts to California & I would never do that to any customers @ all & maybe; The management team might want to retrain her in this type of atmosphere.
There was more than plenty of seats & other booths to setup for an other party if needed.
Sincerely,
Mr. Russell MacDonald
