If we lived closer this would surely become a go-to destination. Dockside stew was out of this world; incredible sauce loaded with calmari, shrimp, clams, fish set a new standard. Same applies to grilled cheese with crab cake and tomato sandwich. Desserts were over-the-top. Found out the hard way that one was big enough for two. Oh, darn. Had to eat two. A few things were annoying, like a large table in the back was “reserved for large parties” - not sure why people can’t just sit wherever. “If it is sunny outside, there is more seating! The staff has always been friendly and accommodating regarding my dietary restrictions. I usually get an omelette with veggies and sub the potatoes for a salad. No one makes me feel awkward, or bats an eye when I ask for dietary accommodations. The space is cozy and elegant. Perfect for a brunch with an out of town guest or two. I would not recommend taking a large group to this establishment, as the seating is limited, and most tables accommodate four people tops. The Delaware Art Museum is a short walk away, and Rockford Park is also nearby.”

“We found this restaurant in Wilmington by chance, and we are so glad we did! The menu isn’t large but it was still difficult to choose what to order. Everything sounded delicious, and what we had truly was fantastic! The gnocchi is made without potatoes and it was so light and tasty. The sauce made you go back for one more bite, after another. The portions were generous so I was able to enjoy another meal for lunch, and was sad to eat my last bite of lasagna! Kudos to the chef! Well done! Our only suggestion would be a sampler platter with a little bit of everything!! Since that’s not an option we will be back!”

“This was my first time going to Columbus Inn for their buffet. Let me begin by saying I was impressed with the buffet options. Typically when I go to buffets the selections are limited for me because of my food preferences/lifestyle. This was not the case at Columbus Inn at all. A number of choices; I was impressed. This was pleasing, however, the service was not. I was there with my family to celebrate a birthday, making lasting memories. Our server, Gabrielle, was not the friendliest. It felt like we were more of a burden to her rather than her being kind and serving us. I understand people have so so days. Instead of giving her what she was giving us I was kind to her but it didn’t rub off on her at all. Everything we asked her for did not return with a smile and an oblige. It was actually concerning! If I had to make a choice about coming back to Columbus Inn based on the service the answer would be no based on Gabrielle’s disposition toward us.”
