I had the pistachio hempburger, with the curried cabbage and jerk eggplant as my sides. I actually came in here because it was empty and the restaurant I had intended to dine in was packed with a long wait. I didn't realize it was a raw food restaurant, so I was a bit surprised to find that the food was delicious and extremely satisfying.
The hempburger was so good, I only wish the portion size were larger, while the overall meal was satisfying that burger was too delicious to be over so quickly.
The jerk eggplant is flavorful, just a bit more spice would make it perfect but I can understand if they want to keep it approachable for a larger clientele.
The curried cabbage was the bomb. Period.
The staff was also very friendly and able to talk me through the menu.
For a completely unintended visit, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It's a bit pricier than I can afford on a regular basis (lol nonprofit life) but worth checking out if you're in the area and definitely a must if you're into a raw food diet.
I can't believe this place exists! We have nothing like this in LA from a black owned business standpoint. The food is sooooo flavorful I have nothing bad to say about it. Affordable and delicious. Keeps you full and your tastebuds dance. I coming back today before I leave town to go back home. I got the hemp burger, cauliflower, and creamed collards, and cashew cheesecake!!!
Great tasting food. Some of the prices are a bit high. Maybe I just bought too much. I'd definitely go back.
I loved the food--the hemp burger, cauliflower in some spicy sauce, greens--but I was warned some of the staff are almost unfriendly, and the warnings were right. Besides that, If you want a particular item on their menu, call ahead to make sure they have it because chances are good they don't. Of the 8 or so entrees, they've only had 3 or 4 every time I've gone. I kind of like that it's not a big chain which carries a ton of items all the time, so that doesn't bother me, but for two weeks I've been trying to get one particular entree and one particular desert and they haven't made it...and no, there's nothing "seasonal" about the ingredients for either, so I'm not sure what the hold up is. Yep, it's expensive, but its also really good healthy food.
Just amazing. I found it by chance and I'll so happy about it! It's raw food so +, and it's good so ++, and it's kind of cheap so +++.
I recommend 100% and I like the atmosphere/vibes here.
You can't miss if you like raw food or want to try it is a ideal place for you :)
