Sakana gets five stars for being an unpretentious, functional place. Very decent food from a decent menu that will not bust your wallet! Hungry travellers and a catch up wiyh a friend, this is it. If you are trying to impress a special someone, perhaps try somewhere a lite less functional and more up market!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city. The Sakana tempura sushi is a must

Fantastic! Great sushi and super friendly service with reasonable prices. I went here on the recommendation of our hosts and loved it so much that I went twice in three days for lunch. I really couldn't recommend Sakana highly enough. Definitely a Georgetown gem. Open rather late as well.

I'll admit I'm no connoisseur of sushi, but to my taste the sushi here is delicious. It's fresh and presented simply but attractively, and they've got a good mix of traditional and creative menu options. It's a comfortable and pretty quiet setting (classical music soundtrack), and pretty popular but I've never had to wait for a table either. Good prices too and good service.

Neighborhood gem. There is more to be said for a consistently good restaurant at a reasonable price. This is actually rare for a sushi restaurant. I come here for the sashimi but there are hot dishes as well. From outside, one can easily walk by this relatively small space. Inside, the long and narrow restaurant gives it a cozy feeling even without booths or partitions.
