Del Sur Cafe

Definitely one of the few hidden gems in DC. I absolutely love the menu options from Uruguay-Argentina. A place with very friendly staff and a comfortable setting to eat an exquisite parrillada!

Delicious food and quick service. I had a pair beef empanadas and then a chivito. Great food and service ! Can’t wait to come back !

Visited with my husband and toddler. The ambiance is cozy and warm and the wait staff is super attentive. We don’t get out often because of our toddler but our waiter and the other waitstaff were so kind and so good with our son. They helped keep him entertained through the entire meal. More importantly the food was AMAZING. We enjoyed the barbecue platter for two, the croquettes and the peach cake dessert. Every dish we had was to die for... There wasn’t one thing we didn’t love. We washed it down with some yummy pisco sours. Del Sur Cafe is a must visit . Perfect for a date night or family dinner. Amazing food, super friendly staff and great staff. This place is a true hidden gem.

Honestly this is was my first time and I had a good time with everyone. If you go there ask for Juan, he’s the best waitress I met. They gave me the best service all the time. Also they have THE BEST FOOD & DRINKS... Just go & enjoy it with your friends & family.

I'd been waiting years for an Uruguayan-Argentine restaurant to pop on the DC scene, and lo and behold, here's a good-looking one with a diverse and authentic-sounding menu. (There's even a vegan selection of dishes!) As an Uruguayan myself, the chivito was always going to be the acid test for this place, and it did not disappoint. Tasted just like home, at a reasonable price point. 10/10 would recommend. Will come back to try their milanesas and grilled meats.

***UPDATE*** Went back on a Saturday for lunch. Had the chivito (irresistible), the steak milanesa napolitana, and the chajá for dessert. Once again, everything was fantastic. Ideal weekend vibe, too. The first time was clearly not a fluke—best kept secret in DC! Keep it up ?
