I went for a birthday brunch with a group of friends. The space was very cold upstairs and couldn't be adjusted when asked. In addition, the food portions were small and some people's food came more than 30 minutes after the rest of the group. Service was ok, but not very friendly and they cut off the drink limit early after seating us long after our booked reservation. All in all, it was an ok experience, but I would not come back.
So this place is pretty good but not the greatest. I'll start by saying the staff and people who were in there were top notch. Our server was helpful and courteous and did a great job. The drinks are excellent, like they did a great job making them taste exactly like the various different types of margaritas they had on the menu. I got the strawberry jalapeno and my wife had the ginger honey. Both were the perfect blend of flavors and not too sweet. They were just a little on the week side for me personally. The tacos, I got the asada (steak), Al pastor(ground pork), and pescado(fish), honestly just left a little too be desired. Let me rephrase, they're good, just not the taste I had in mind from my past taco experiences. The place gets packed though and the wait for two can sometimes get up to a half hour, but it goes fast. Will I go back, maybe for happy hour.
Went here for brunch on a Saturday and was not disappointed. Took one bite of the tacos and fell in love. Anyone who enjoys great flavors and an amiable environment will enjoy El Chucho.
Great place. The tacos are really good and the place has a nice mellow feel but can be hard to get a seat at the bar. Would recommend
