Food is amazing. Lots of flavor. Good wine and beer selection. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Makan has hands down some of the best food (let alone best Malaysian food) in DC right now. This is a beautifully re-made space and creative new dishes are introduced weekly. With pick-up and delivery on the horizon, I cannot wait to start eating here again during lockdown!

Wow what an enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this fine establishment.

The restaurant provides a great ambiance and exceptional service. The food was excellent and full of flavor. The drink menu provided many fun options. At the advice of our server we ordered a few plates per person with the intension of sharing. The menu is small but good.

    Will definitely be back.

Went to a birthday event with some friends at this restaurant and it was excellent! We are able to really order a lot of different items off the menu to share and taste it all. Everything was delicious, spices were amazing, great sauces. there was fair warning of the spice levels and it was extremely exciting to explore and have fun. Drinks were phenomenal very creative and tasty with the meal.

A group of four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Makan The first floor restaurant above the thirsty crow bar which is on the basement level. We tried practically everything on the menu and we are really impressed with the appetizers and main courses of flavors of each individual meal when did so with each other it was a festival of exotic flavors. I must admit that I can’t tell you the names of all of the dishes but there were some very unique curries and a wonderful chicken as well as egg plants and other really unique dishes. I have never had Malaysian food before and it was a real treat. We absolutely enjoyed our waitress and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant, it seemed like a really nice working environment for everyone Who was there. The tapioca dessert was absolutely delicious the textures and the taste was beyond compare I could’ve taken 12 orders home it was so good. I’m looking forward to a return visit!
