About 2 years ago I reviewed this award winning bbq spot in Uptown D.C. Well they got a spot on the South Side!! So I’m definitely siced (excited) about hittin this jont (restaurant). LET’S GO!!

Their Smokehouse Melt (with brisket, cheddar-Jack cheese, & jerk bbq sauce $14). LIKE THAT!! Well smoked brisket, meaty, buttery toast, & a STAMPED Jerk bbq sauce!!

Their DCity Halfsmoke (a halfsmoke sausage, brisket chili, cheddar Jack, red onions, & yellow mustard $12). STAMP!! The BEST Halfsmoke I’ve ever had!! Juicy, spicy, topped with BRISKET, & it snapped!!

Their Smoked Wings Combo (1/2 dozen with baked beans, bbq sauce, & cilantro ranch $17). STAMP!! Perfect Lu smoked with a savory dry rub, & STAMPED sauces!!

Their BBQ Sampler Platter (with 1/2 lb.brisket, 1/2 lb, Rib tips, Jalapeño Mac n Cheese, &
Spicy Collard Greens $33). STAMP the tips, & brisket. Both smoky, & tender!!

The Jalapeno Mac…DECENT!! Spicy…I just needed a different blend of cheeses.

The Spicy Collards…STAMP!! Hearty, spicy, full of flavor!!

The Baked Beans…LIKE THAT!! SPICY, savory, tasty!!

Their Mango Madness (with mango juice, & a mango bourbon $12.50). STAMP!! Sweet, strong…this will DEFINITELY get you lit!!

Walked in and were greeted immediately.
Ordered the ribs and wings combo with the fried brussel sprouts. Received about 6 wings and 3 ribs. If you lie smoked meat this was smoked pretty good.
Also had the DCity half smoke which is absolutely DELICIOUS!!
My husband had the BBQ sandwich (pulled pork) with coleslaw, hush puppies and added another side of fries. This total was about $70. Overall I would recommend this establishment. All the food was good and they weren't busy. I'm not sure if it's because they are new to SE or just the timing that I went. But customer service good, food good and establishment clean.

With accolades of being among the “best BBQ” spots in the D.C. area, this location in Anacostia is their second in the city. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 12-8 p.m., I picked up takeout around 6 p.m. on a Friday evening. Here’s our experience.

1) Food: The menu is full of items from smoked wings to ribs to pulled pork sandwiches. They also have twelve different sides.

The pulled pork sandwich was tasty and has the right ratio of slaw to meat. It comes with BBQ sauce in a small container.

The Mac and cheese is good, but wasn’t as spicy as I had hoped considering there are jalapeños in it.

The baked beans were great! They are not runny at all, but rather very thick.

2) Drinks: They have a refrigerator with bottles of Coca-Cola.

3) Service: The staff were super friendly and efficient. There are two cash registers and one person who makes the food.

4) Space: There are four high top tables that sit four each and a few stools at the front window. There’s one unisex restroom in the back.
