So... I have been at Ethiopian restaurants in several places around the globe... this is so far will remains on the top of the unforgettable experiences. What distinguish the place is the beautiful simplicity blended with the amazing authentic food. The place is very clean taking and bright. Well.... the Ehtipian Beer is a MUST try. It is light yet so delicious. The service and the hospitality of the owners is what makes this place special. It is like you are eating home served with full of passion and love.
Amazing place, Great staff, good customer services. Food is awesome. Would definitely order again and try newer meals??
Amazing food!
We ordered the Family Vegetarian Special and the Family Meat Special; both came with a huge variety of vegetables and meat. This amount could probably feed about 6 people.
Literally almost all of the dishes we tried were really good. I couldn't tell you exactly what was what (it came in 2 gigantic to-go containers) but my family really enjoyed everything. Especially the injera - amazing.
Compared to other Ethiopian restaurants, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the amount of food you get. (The owner also gave me a free container of homemade yogurt which was very sweet!)
I highly recommend this place.
I ended up here because I was specifically looking for an Ethiopian place with kayser/ beets and there aren't many places in DC that have them. The first place I went to was closed, the second place (the Ambassador) was dimly lit, loud and none of the patrons were wearing masks. So I eventually ended up here hoping for the best and I'm glad I did. It's hands down the best Ethiopian in DC. Not only is the food amazing and well priced, the women who run it are very hospitable, attentive and polite but don't hover and give you space to enjoy your meal and the restaurant itself is quiet, clean and well decorated. There were also outlets and I was able to charge my phone while I ate. Definitely highly recommended.
We ordered a delicious plate, which has a variety of vegetables and meats. It was delicious. My boys loved it and at the end we took some leftovers, and it was even better in the morning for breakfast. We definitely recommend this restaurant and are looking forward to going back. Thank you to all the wonderful staff especially the owner she was a sweetheart. Great service you feel like home.
