Definitely my new favorite restaurant in DC! We were impresed with the smoothness of their service and a taste of every dish! My favorite appetizer was the lamb sausage and loved the beef short ribs for my main course! I will be back again soon 😍
Dining at Opal is such a special experience. The food is tremendous- and original! It’s a lovely opportunity to eat excellent quality food, from an exciting and unexpected menu, in an inviting environment. I’m dying to go back and experience Opal again!
Cocktails were very good, and worth a visit just for the drinks! The food was… only OK. Not a lot of flavor or texture with most of the dishes we were served, although my salmon was cooked medium rare and was very tasty. We shelled out for the sharing menu and some parts were also a little silly (two scallops to share between three people, two pieces of bread between three people, the tiniest dollops of bread spreads). Service was fantastic though, no complaints there. If you’re in the mood for a well cooked piece of fish and a martini, Opal won’t disappoint. Otherwise, another restaurant might offer more depth and flavor for a special occasion.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Everything we ordered was great, left us wanting to come back to try more things…
My wife and I loved the Chef Experience. Quality of the food is top notch, service was very friendly and hospitable and value was on point. Restaurant is lovely and drinks are strong. Already planing to come back.
